Why take action

The Swift Parrot is one of Australia’s most endangered species, found only in Tasmania’s forests during breeding season.

Logging continues to destroy its critical habitat, pushing this remarkable bird closer to extinction.

Experts, including the IUCN, have called for permanent protection of all Swift Parrot habitat. Yet vital breeding, nesting, and foraging forests are still being logged across Tasmania.

Without immediate action from the Prime Minister and Premier, the Swift Parrot will not survive. Protecting its habitat now is the only way to prevent extinction.
