Action for Takayna

Volunteer at Art for Takayna Residency

Support artists at remote wilderness camps in the wilderness as part of our annual Art for Takayna residency.

Why take action

Each year, artists camp deep in Takayna's forests, rivers and coastline to create work that speaks for a place under threat. Behind every residency is a volunteer crew who keep camp running, so artists can live and work safely in the wilderness.

Join us at base camp in Waratah or out in the field, whether you're cooking for the crew, keeping camp in shape, washing up, or providing first aid (current qualification required). Skills in remote camping, bush navigation or cooking are a big plus.

This is real remote camping in all weather conditions. You'll need resilience, a good sense of humour, quality waterproofs and your own camping gear. In return, you'll spend days in one of the world's last great temperate wildernesses and contribute directly to its protection.
