The Anzac Day firebombing of Tasmania’s forests and wildlife should have been stopped by Premier Rockliff, says Bob Brown. Instead, Forestry Tasmania has turned a beautiful, clear autumn day into an irritating smoke haze this afternoon.
“After all the recent bad publicity, especially from the tourism industry, the premier had an obligation to keep this holiday free of forestry infernos. He should have defended the greater public interest and told the loggers to keep their matches and napalm in the cupboard, at least for today.”
