Bob Brown Foundation’s Antarctic campaigner, Alistair Allan, is currently onboard Sea Shepherd Global’s new vessel, the Allankay on an expedition to Antarctica.
The expedition aims to both showcase the incredible beauty and wildlife of Antarctica and highlight the growing threats facing this unique ecosystem.
“Antarctica is one of Earth’s last wild places, a priceless treasure in the modern age. However, it faces massive challenges due to climate change, tourism, and industrial fishing,” said Alistair Allan.
“Sea Shepherd and Bob Brown have a long history of protecting Antarctica. We hope to use this journey to show the world some of the biggest threats to this amazing wilderness”
“After Bob Brown Foundation successfully campaigned to stop the Australian government, under Scott Morrison, from building a giant concrete airport in Antarctica last year, this expedition will be a rallying cry to Anthony Albanese and the Labour government for Australia to do more to protect Antarctica and its fragile environment.”
