Art for Takayna Field Trip and Exhibition

What is the Art for Takayna Field Trip?
The Art for Takayna Field Trip is an immersive experience where artists and nature enthusiasts explore the Takayna / Tarkine region. Participants draw inspiration from the diverse landscapes, creating art that reflects the beauty and significance of this ancient area.
The field trip is open to artists, photographers, musicians, and nature lovers who are passionate about capturing and protecting Takayna / Tarkine through their creative work.

During the field trip, participants will explore various parts of Takayna / Tarkine, engage in art-making activities, and collaborate with fellow artists. The trip includes guided tours, opportunities to create art in response to the environment, and updates on the Bob Brown Foundation’s campaign efforts to protect Takayna.
The Art for Takayna Exhibition is an annual event showcasing artworks inspired by the Takayna / Tarkine region. It features pieces from artists who attended the field trip and others who share a commitment to protecting this unique landscape.
We invite artists to submit their work for the Art for Takayna 2025 exhibition. While the exhibition primarily features artists from the 2024 field trip, additional submissions are welcome. Register your interest and get updates by signing up here.
We accept a variety of mediums, including paintings, sculptures, photographs, and multimedia installations. The artworks should reflect the beauty, diversity, and importance of Takayna / Tarkine.
The Art for Takayna 2025 exhibition will take place at the Long Gallery in Nipaluna / Hobart. Exact dates will be announced closer to the event.

Yes, while the exhibition primarily features works from field trip participants, other artists who share a commitment to the Takayna / Tarkine region are welcome to submit their work for consideration.
