Handy information
Where is the event held?
Takayna Trail 2027 is based in the heart of Takayna in north-west Tasmania with the Men’s Shed in Waratah serving as our HQ for the event. Participants will experience incredible forest landscapes, with lineage dating back to the ancient supercontinent of Gondwanaland. The event traverses forests of ferns, fungi, epiphytes, lichen, and mosses — along with sections that home towering eucalypt trees, myrtle forests and views over mystical green valleys. The terrain on the trail regularly changes, along with the flora, allowing participants to experience one of Earth’s last wild places.
Why should I do the Takayna Trail?

T37: A challenging option for experienced trail runners who are comfortable with increased distance, elevation, remoteness and navigation.
