In 2022, we launched our community organising program, Communities for Forests.
The Bob Brown Foundation has been protecting forests in Tasmania for more than five years. Now, we are joining forces with passionate individuals right around the country to build a nation-wide movement to end native forest logging nationally, for good.
Australia's forests are dwindling rapidly due to logging, land clearing, and mining. Alongside the destruction of these forests comes the loss of critical habitat for endangered species, irreplaceable carbon banks, and the iconic and beautiful landscapes of globally unique and rare ecosystems.
Together, we are building a powerful, people-led movement across Australia’s neighbourhoods, cities and towns. Using our Native Forest Declaration as our rallying call, we are using constituent-led political engagement to put our political leaders on notice. We believe in empowering our supporters to speak with us on forests, and we believe in the power of community to create long-lasting change for our environment.
If we want to build a strong movement for forest protection, we need strong and diverse community support for our campaign - one that we can use to hold our politicians to account. We have the long-term goal of securing more than 500,000 signatures on our Native Forest Declaration – but more importantly, we have the goal of building engaged community groups who are empowered, outspoken and hold their political leaders to account.
No matter your experience, life stage or location, you can join us. Come and stand alongside hundreds of other dedicated, passionate and engaged people who are fighting for native forest protection in Australia. Australia's forests need your help.
