The Black Swan is a Tasmanian icon - protected, honoured and celebrated.
Yet the Tasmanian Government has just issued a permit to kill 200 swans in Tasmania’s Central Highlands to preserve trout fishing habitat. This is an abomination. Tasmania’s native wildlife must not be sacrificed for the sake of an introduced species. This is an outrageous proposal akin to the Thylacine bounty of the 1900s.
Join us in asking Premier Rockliff to immediately halt any proposed killing of swans.
