Ali Alishah, Tasmanian veteran forest protester has been released from three months in prison this morning after being arrested for defending Styx Valley of the Giants forests from logging.

“Ali is nature’s recidivist. Jailing people for their love of nature is a losing strategy, it sets off a tidal wave of resentment. The answer is simple, end native forest logging,” Bob Brown said today.

“When it comes to being arrested in defence of Tasmania’s native forest estate, recidivism is a duty as long as there is destruction,” Ali Alishah said.

“Instead of continuously destroying our native forests at great cost to the taxpayer and the planet, the Tasmanian parliament must immediately shift their management strategy to restoration and protection of our environment,” Ali Alishah said.
