Bob Brown Foundation has called for an end to delays and an unequivocal refusal of the Robbins Island Wind Farm

“If after seven years the proponent of the Robbins Island Wind Farm has failed to convince successive Ministers that it can operate without impacts on our Commonwealth listed threatened and endangered species, it should be rejected,” said Bob Brown Campaigner Scott Jordan.

“This decision could have been made today. The Robbins Island Wind Farm will condemn the critically endangered Orange-Bellied Parrot and green light the transmission of Devil Facial Tumour Disease to the last disease-free wild population.”

“Minister Plibersek promised ‘no more extinctions under my watch’. If Minister Plibersek stands by her promise she must not entertain approving the compromising Australia’s most important migratory bird route and signing a death warrant for over 25 species of Commonwealth listed bird species, including critically endangered species the Orange Bellied Parrot, the Red Knot, the Far Eastern Curlew, Curlew Sandpiper and Swift Parrot, and authorising a 1.6 km bridge to allow the transmission of Devil Facial Tumour Disease to the island.”

“A decisive ‘no’ is the only responsible course of action,” said Scott Jordan.
