Tarkine forest defence sit enters second day.

Conservationists have entered a second day of defence of native remnant forest at Meunna as tree-sitter Sinead Murphy (25) remains in a tree sit preventing the destruction of the forest.

“Yesterday we successfully defended this remnant forest vital for habitat and stored carbon from destruction. Today we aim to do it again and give the government the opportunity to move the logging machinery out,” said Bob Brown Foundation takayna / Tarkine Campaigner Scott Jordan.

“We must take action to defend remaining native forests if we are to have any chance of preventing catastrophic climate change and species extinctions”.

“Our Foundation urges people to stand up for our forests in this time of climate emergency and biodiversity crisis. We must make the politicians understand that forests have values that cannot be measured in money,” Scott Jordan said.
