Volunteers in venue set up roles are required to arrive at Riverbend by midday on Wed 4 November. All other volunteers should aim to be at Riverbend by midday on 5th November.

BBF hires vehicles including 12 seater buses and Utes to be used during the event. If you are over 25, have a full drivers licence and could collect a vehicle for us from Hobart, Launceston or Wynyard, please indicate below.

You can camp on site at Riverbend in a tent. car or van. Volunteers can also opt to sleep in a bunk in a shared dorm room. There are excellent bathroom and shower facilities at Riverbend. Please indicate your accommodation plans below.

To be a part of this team, you must be able to get to Riverbend on Wednesday 4 November. There are lots of tasks including setting up the rooms, moving furniture, decorating the venue (banners), setting up the tea & coffee station, kitchen prep work and much more.

Your role is kitchen hand, serving assistant and lunch box prep. Shifts in the kitchen are busy but fun and rewarding. You will report to our head cook, Laura.

Venue roles are varied and can include scullery, light cleaning duties, emptying bins, tea & coffee supply replenishment, merch and campaign desk and vehicle cleaning.

We need several licensed and capable drivers to drive 12-seater vans, Utes and other vehicles during the event. You may be asked to pick up and drive a vehicle from Hobart or the NW of Tasmania to Riverbend. Some early morning and night driving may be required (not compulsory). You must be over 25 for these roles.

Assist the Lead Scientists and Site Coordinators to manage the logistics of each survey site.

There is a separate sign up process for Survey Leaders. Please only tick this option if you have already received confirmation of your placement from our event producer, Kat Traill.

You will be going out to different survey sites with participants as the designated first aid officer. A current medical or first aid qualification is essential.

Led by our master equipment wrangler, Damien, you will assist with picking and loading all of the essential gear that we take to each survey site each day. You will assist with sorting, loading and unloading gear. This is a physical role with some heavy lifting involved.

Provide technical support and assistance during the event's evening program. Your help will ensure that all presentations run smoothly. Experience in configuring AV equipment is very useful.

Supporting the Takayna Kids program involves assisting the Survey Leader and the Takayna Kids program coordinator. There will be activities at Riverbend and daytime field trips. Experience with working with children is an advantage and a current WWVP card.

This crew is vital to help us to pack down the site and get on the road back home before 2pm on Sunday. Roles include stacking chairs, packing down tables, cleaning vehicles, helping to pack down the kitchen, loading vehicles and being an all round excellent helper!
